Deb is an Ellis County, country gal growing up on a farm near Catherine, Kansas. She is a graduate of Hays High School and entered the optical world by taking a receptionist position with a Hays optometrist to earn some money before proceeding to college. Well, college never happened, and after five years, she accepted a position with an Optical Dispensary concentrating on selecting, ordering, and dispensing eyeglasses. In 1985 she became American Board Certified in Opticianry. Many years later, she accepted the optician position with Dr. Krug. In 2001, she became a Certified Paratometric Assistant broadening her knowledge of 'the eye.'
Outside of the office, she enjoys going out to the country and assisting with the family's cattle operations--all done on a smaller scale these days. She also enjoys baking, playing cards, polka and square dancing, and needle work if nothing else is happening. She has a ton of books to be read in her free time or in the retirement years. Deb tends to stay busy, and she is always open to hosting an expected, or unexpected, get-together with family and friends.
Some say that they hate their job, or that their job is boring, but Deb has never been bored and still enjoys the every day work. She also enjoys the 'challenges' of eyeglass vision and comfort while meeting new and past people each day. The eyeglass world has changed over the years, but she believes that good vision and quality eyewear are worth the extra time and dollar for everyone! Life is good for Deb!
